Need some blanks.....

I have a question for those of you who cast your own blanks. Do you have any Orange and Black blanks -or- any red (or crimson) and white blanks? I am in need of 3 each. I hope to be casting my own in the next few months, but I need these soon

OSU and OU?

I make OU pens from red box elder and maple, and OSU from Texas Ebony (half heartwood, half sapwood) or heavily spalted ash, dying them with orange dye. I'm also going to try zebrawood dyed orange. (Zebrawood didn't work, stripes not black enough.)

I also bought an orange and black blank from Rockler, but I haven't turned it yet. I haven't been brave enough to try acrylic yet.

Jon, I haven't seen any commercially available two color blanks that are a good match for OU/OSU colors either and hope you find someone to cast some for you.

As an interim solution, you might consider blanks shown in the photo for two blank (or segmented) pens. Not a perfect match but rabid OU/OSU friends and family like them. Invisavue blanks are actually better colors (in burgundy and white) but I really don't like to turn Invisavue. I had to use black Invisavue because I couldn't find a black acrylic acetate in the "chip" look -- also FYI, Invisavue not available in orange.

I bought the chrome football clips from Ernie at Bear Tooth Woods -- Tulsa Woodcraft sometimes has a few in stock, too.

Slimlines shown and I've also done a couple of cigars and Barons in these colors.

PS The orange looks pale in the photo -- it is actually a brighter orange than I can photograph very well.

When I make pens from Texas Ebony for my Oklahoma relatives I label it "black mimosa" (an alternate name for Texas ebony). For just that reason!

The only problem is that all the slappies around me want blue and yellow for the Wolverines. I hate U of M, it almost pains me to make a U of M colored pen. I make up for it by charging them more

I dunno if the 2nd and 3rd from the bottom would match your teams colors, i'd have to look them up to be certain but I have some of them available.
