need some advice on drying wood

I cut some cherry this past March, the tree had gone down the previous June. I sealed the ends and stacked them on pallets in a very large steel shed with lots of air movement. I just got around to cutting it up today and the logs are split really bad. I've cut the wood all up in to rough shapes. My question is since the wood is still to wet to read on my meter, do I go ahead and seal the wood again? I've cut out the center now. It will not allow me to upload the photo that shows how I cut up the peices. But basically I've made rough bowl blank.

Any fruit wood is difficult to dry. I always cut it to near size when wet. I'm experimenting with sealing the wood, then adding gloss advertising pages, from the newspaper, to the sealer on the end grain. Too early to tell how it will work, but it's all about slowing the drying process at the beginning.

Rich, that is an interesting idea, I may try it with some of these. I will go ahead and put sealer on the wood, thanks for input.
