Need Parts

A few weeks ago I made a matched pen/pencil cigar set for a client on the east coast. He just contacted me saying the pencil mechanism will no longer twist and there is some kind of blockage as he cannot put more lead inside the barrel.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a fix or replacement parts available?

This is very discouraging as it is my first return, but worse it was my very first sale too.

Let me first state that I hate pencils. They are the bane of my existence. Their mechinisms tend to be finicky and prone to drama.

That being said, I've never actually had to replace a mechanism. Typically, these come back because lead won't feed or won't stay out. Every time I've had one returned, I cleaned out the old lead, fiddled around with it for a few minutes, placed a few pieces of new lead into it, and it worked properly.

My point is, before you worry about replacing the mechanism, get the pencil in your hand and see if you can't solve the possibly minor problem.
