I believe a member bought one less that a week ago. He/she pretty excited about it. If you haven't already done so, search the threads.

I have had mine for a couple years now and love it.

.....that's tough to beat! Great machines. I have the Nova DVR 2024 and love it!

Dave; What is a "good price" and how much tooling comes with it? If it's a bare lathe, you could easly spend $200-$600 for tooling to make it do what you want it to do. Every extra piece you can get with it, you can add $30- $100 or more if you had to purchase it on your own. If you think it's a good deal, jump on it, you would have no problem reselling that lathe. I have never liked the variable speed controls on that machine. I want to hit a switch and have the speed right away. I hate the ramp up speed, or touching the speed changing button and waiting for it to respond. I prefer switches and potentiometers.

I agree with low_48 about the speed controls. We have one at our turning club, and at a school where I have taken some classes. I find the controls annoying compared to my Jet 1642. The delay in responding always has me pressing the buttons again to try to get it to respond faster. That said, it is a solid machine and I would not turn one down if offered. The other people in the group that own the XP like it, so it is probably more of what you are used to.

I am not sure what lathe you are using now, but the Nova has a 1 1/4" x 8 spindle, so you may need to get adapters/new chucks if you are moving up from a 1" x 8 spindle machine.

If your like me and only use a couple of speeds, you can preset 5 speeds which makes it a lot quicker changing speeds. I love mine.
