Need help with a pen cap problem

I bought a slimline silver penkit from Woodcraft. I couldn't get the pen cap to go through the clip. The cap will go in the blank without the clip. This is what I mean by the pen cap: http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2001972/31022/7mm-Gold-Pen-Cap-5-Pack.aspx

take a round file and file a little bit from the hole in clip. thats how I fix this.

I agree with phil.you will run into that every once in awhile.I went to harbor freight and picked up a couple different sizes of chainsaw files.They work great.
