Did a show this weekend and the weather conditions were less than ideal
( IT RAINED FOR BOTH DAYS ) however I still did well considering.
I had a man enter the tent with a couple of children ( 7/8 ish ) and start to look over the pens,I was shocked when the man handed a $100 pen to one of the children to look at,and you guessed it HE DROPPED IT !
Well the man in his 30's picked it up and placed it back in the case at which
time the mother came out of a jewelry tent with a necklace that looked more
Wilma Flintstone than Tiffany, and the Brady bunch left.
Because of the weather it was a constant chase to keep stuff dry and clean.
I was amazed when I removed the pen from the case to find pretty good damage on the back side. Alot of it!
As I said it is a good show, had the father showed me the damage and apologized that would have been it.But to try and hide it?
I'm not upset with the child, that stuff happens, I am however upset with the lesson the father taught the child
I'm sure that this is not the last time this will happen but I just had to tell
others that would understand,
What is the IAP shrink rate again????:befuddled::befuddled::befuddled:

I had the same thing happen at the last craft fair I went to! It wasn't a pen but a $100 pepper mill that was dropped on cement and then placed back on the table like nothing happened. Fortunately I was able to chuck it back up and turn the damaged edge off the bottom.

How unfortunate.

I can remember being with my Dad in stores. "Boys, Hands in Pockets" was always his first line. One day either my brother or I asked why he said that. His reply has stayed with me to this day and was passed on to my children when they could understand.

"If you can't afford it, don't touch it." I'm glad I got that through to my kids.

Heck I don't need a kids help to break them. I do it all by myself just fine. After my first show I realized kids need something to draw attention so I now have a bowl full of tops for kids to play with. Plus they can buy one if they like it, but most are given away.
