What do you give the person who saved your life?

I don't think I have a creative bone in my body when it comes to gifts. I can't think of what to get and end up giving a gift card or something. So I am asking the creative and imaginative people here for ideas please.
Anyhow, I want a gift for my brother. The occasion will be the first anniversary of my bone marrow transplant that he donated the stem cells for. If the good Lord is willing I plan on being here many more years and we will meet each September.
What is a good creative gift? He is a voracious reader, especially military history, works as an Able Bodied Seaman for Interlake Steamship on the Great Lakes.
Ideas anyone? I realize that's not alot to go on and you don't know either of us but help me brainstorm please.
It could be one of a kind custom pen. I looked at some of the SOYP pages for fine examples but with over 1000 pages I didn't search far.
Thanks for all of your ideas, craft related or not. Feel free to PM as well.

How about a thank you and a hug? Brothers don't need much especially if you mean it. Pick up the tab maybe. He did not do this to get anything in return. I guess what I am saying is you can't put a price on brotherhood and what he did he did because he was your brother.

My brothers and I have our issues but when one needs the other two we got each others' backs no matter what.

A roll of life savers, of course:)

Seriously, It would be a GREAT gift to make him a pen that looks like a roll of lifesavers. You could even list each color as a significant "milestone" in both of your lives.

I PROMISE, it would be a "forever" keepsake, especially if you described each color as an event in your lives.

Respectfully submitted

So true Haynie. I know he wouldn't expect anything, it's just something I wanted to do for the first time.
Proverbs 17:17 says a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity. I used to think that meant brothers are here to give us a hard time but I think it means they are born to there in hard times.

Good ideas all.
