Hi,

I have been given alot of interesting blanks from a family member, they range from woods, acrylics and ones like coffee beans in the resin.

Please could people give me advice on the best way to finish each type but bearing in mind i have a limited amount of money?

Many Thanks!!

Ollie :)

Oh boy, you've just opened a can of worms. There are probably as many ways of finishing as there are members on the forum, and I have a feeling you're going to get to read most of them in the following post. When I started I found a video on youtube by william young. He demonstates his method for CA/BLO. I found it easy to do and got pretty good results with it. You might start there. There are also videos by Grubb32 that I found helpful and I beleive there is something in the Library here on finishing with Poly. I think that was by Les Elm but I may be mistaken.

For wood you will find most on here use CA in one form or another for their finishes. As suggested, you will find some good articles in the library on finishing in this manor.
