Here is a natural edged bowl I made for a client. This isn't the normal natural edge that most people think about but this came from a branch that broke off a tree during a storm. The client dropped off a log and wanted a bowl, a pen and a few ornaments for presents for family members.
Since the branch wasn't very big, I told him I would try to use the part of the tree that broke off since it was the biggest part and had some nice figure.
As I turned the bowl I had planned on a small bowl (about 3"-4" tall by 8" across. Then I had an idea : how about a 'natural' edge bowl? So instead of a shorter bowl, the 'natural' edge ended up making the bowl a little taller. I love how it turned out and wanted to keep it for myself
And the best part is that the client LOVED it!
