Thanks David - I am from Shelbyville. My parents lived in Unionville and we lived off of Midland Rd. Definitely could come turn...

Jim - thanks. I'd like to get together. I just looked at this while I am at lunch. Will post later today!

Hi, my name is Mike Taylor and I am in Nashville. I have been making pens for a couple of years now but that is about the extent of my turning except for the occasional bottle stopper. I am retired but am helping a church with a building program so that is keeping me busier than I really want. I have always wondered why there is no IAP chapter in or around Nashville but there are several turning clubs I have heard about.

I can't make it the next three Saturdays. Family stuff already planned next two weekends and a wedding the following. The earliest I could make would be the 3rd Saturday in August 8/16.

Sounds fun. I can do a demo on how to make the steampunk blanks if that interests everyone. I can do most pen kits.

I can get together next Saturday and the 16th. If we make it the 16th, we can do the demo at my home and I could have lunch brought in for everyone.

Ok, confirmation that August 16th at 11:00....

I sent an email chain to everyone on the thread. If anyone else is in the Nashville - Williamson County, TN area, you most welcome to attend. Please let me know and I will send you my address.

Had a great time with Jon & Jim today. Maybe next time we can get more to come, but life gets in the way sometimes. Jim & I got to try our hand at steampunk blanks and had a great time doing it. We also got to cast a few blanks and had a great time doing that too. Jon is a great and generous host, openly sharing of his time, materials, & talents. Thank you Jon for hosting and I look foreword to the next time.

Mike.
