Here is another piece of timber I got from one of our local timber market shows the other day. It is a root, I think of Budgeroo but not sure, but has been stained from the black soils and ash where it was found. The outside had heaps of dimples that I thought was a good indicator of bird-eye grain. It had amazing colours when I cut the blanks, but the birds-eye grain wasn't evident until I finished turning them. The colours are amazing, reds, browns, sort of purples and black.

They are finished CA and look great to me, wish I could have bought more of the timber, but I still have enough for another 10-15 blanks.

Good ones Niel, some timer roots got better figure than tree unless you go for the crotch, look like you got some off cut for casting:biggrin:
