All these made by my wife, with maybe a little of my help. The ones with ornaments, she made the ornaments too. She's more talented than she gives herself credit for.

my husband just isn't interested in turning, but he is a fine cabinetmaker. Here are the kitchen cabinets he made me. I tried to get him interested in turning, but it just doesn't "turn him on" LOL.

Turning is OK but patients and skill is in the scrollsaw. Love the work. I see craft show circuit in the future.

That's some great work! The ornaments are quite detailed to my eye. Definitely the stuff craft shows are made of.

She definitely has a knack for it. I wish I did because I always wanted to try elaborate fret work, I'm just not good at it

It fun. You can easily sit there for hours and just fall into a zone. The great part is yes you sit down to do it very easily. But it does take patients. My first love of a hobby. Examples of my many fret work projects.
Those are definitely impressive.

Anyway Ken why does a second lathe have to be for just your wife? It could be " just in case she wants to start and in the meanwhile you use it to stop it seizing up.

I have two. Right at the moment, one is set up for turning and the other is set up for finishing and assembly. (I use the lathe as a pen press. Much more control than the lever type.the ship one is wonderful to my eyes.
