My New Toy

I ran a gun store for many years and was an avid shooter and hunter but moved and changed professions and hadn't pulled a trigger in 25 years until a couple weeks ago. I had forgotten how much fun it was to punch holes in paper. I decided that it was a bit expensive to target shoot with my 9mm so a .22 was in order.
Bought a Ruger MKIII 22/45 and added a scope rail, Bushnell Red Dot scope and some nice Cocobolo grips. I think it will do the job just fine.

In your opinion, what benefit is there to government not allowing gun Ownership?

I got 45s,40s.9s, and the ruger competion 22 is my favorite, I carry a 32 in my pocker,neat little pistol

My old man has one of these, well, the MKII without the bull barrell. It is a fun little plinking gun, but it will spray the shells after the barrell gets hot. I would imagine you could run LOTS of rounds through this baby without that problem. Great little guns action wise. Hardly ever had feeding issues with it, only when it got really dirty from too much powder residue. Great little guns, and your upgrades should be fun plinking add ons.

If there are better target or competition 22s than Ruger, both in MK22 pistol or the 10/22 rifle, I've yet to find them.

I like the additions you've made. Looks great and I'm sure it'll be lots of fun to shoot. I've got a Mark 2 with a bull barrell but haven't shot in years. 22's are a lot of fun to shoot and you don't have to spend a lot of money. :wink:

Sweet, like the new grips. I love my hunter in SS but I need to get some ambidextrous grips for mine (son is a lefty)

Now you need to get an Ultimate Clip loader. With it I run through a 1/2 box ammo each time I go to the range. ****es the guy next to me off when I use this. I don't stop shooting till I run out of ammo.

Are you going to do the MKII conversion? I replaced the internals with Volquartson MKII internals and it runs real smooth and is "easier" to take apart and clean.
