My new favorite wood!

I love that "wow" moment when you finish polishing and turn off the lathe! This one was a double "WOW"!!!

Anyone know what this is?

I would guess tallow. But only because that is the name on the picture. Don't really know wood that well.

It is Chinese Tallow! Got a branch from a friend who had a big pile of tree trimmings. This was a pretty good sized branch so we thought "what the heck". Turned out to be a really good heck!
