This was my entry into the Pretty Wood Pen contest. It's a stabilized Spalted Maple that I purchased from Exotic Blanks with my winnings from the Bash Turning Challenged competition. Finished with CA. It was my first cigar pen, and I really like the heft of it, but I can see why they're not for everyone.

Very nice pen! Yes, I've had a couple Etsy customers mention that the pen was a little larger/heavier than they were expecting, even though I point this out in my description. Personally, I love the Cigar and carry mine daily.

That's a beautiful piece of timber, and you did a great job with it. The cigar is a nice kit, but I'm a small guy, and it's a little too big/heavy for me. I've made a few for others and they love them.

My point of view is that every entry is a winner. You just did not get voted as one if the top three in a crowded field of good work.

Nice pen!!

I carried a cigar pen às daily work pen for about 10 years. Reliable and with a Fisher refill always wrote regardless of weather.
