Finally got this finished today, there were a few hiccups along the way but I am pretty happy with the end result.
This Segmented Vase is made from Tasmanian Oak and dyed with U-Beaut water dyes, then finished with Krylon Clear Varnish.

It is 12 inches high and 6.25inches at its widest. There are 193 pieces all up.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

C & C welcome.

Very nicely done. You have the color transition thing down pretty well. Nice to be able to make something other than pens once in awhile. Thanks for showing.

Hi Bob, long time don't see...!

I like this vase mate and one of the thing that goes very well with the shape, segmentation and off-course, the daying, the fact that, the wood porous show very well has become a nice feature of this piece, the idea of using only one wood species, allowed this to happen, I just didn't realised before that, the Tassie Oak, is so porous, well done...!

Cheers
George

Beautiful Bob! The color transitions, overall shape, tight fit, ... mighty nice.

I love seeing these. And I agree with JT, our lathes can do much more!
