I wanted to make a stopper for a friend who makes wine for Christmas. I bought the starter set from Woodcraft and a piece of bocote to make one with. I did a test run on a piece of box elder that a friend had given me. The box elder was just finished with EEE and Crystal Coat. The bocote was finished with CA. I turned the base of the box elder down to the size of the stopper. The bocote I left wider. I want to try a chess pawn stopper next. The biggest challenge it seems is getting CA and sanding any grooves you might create. Finishing the divot in the top of the bocote was a little bit of a challenge.

Both stoppers look great. Enjoy experimenting with different techniques for turning and finishing. Nicely Done..
