I was so inspired at all the post about christmas ornaments that I decided to break out of my "turning pens bushing to bushing" habit and try something new. I glued up a bunch of maple and walnut cutoffs and tried my hand at making some ornaments. about half way through the process I decided to take a basic turning class so that I could make something other than just a cove. Anyway here are the ones I made for this years gifts. I think next year I will make some more and try to use seperate wood and turn tenons to fit the tops and use a more traditional style. These ones turned out having an amost oriental look to them. Any the picture is kind of bad but you get the idea.
