My first "kitless" pen

I've been away from the forum a while keeping busy with making my DiamondCast blanks. However, I took a day off from both the day job and the blank making to do something for myself this week. I'd bought the taps and dies months ago but never had time to play until this week. Took me about 5 hours, had to save it twice... But here's my first pen made from my Andromeda DiamondCast material. I'll be giving it to my aunt who keeps saying how badly she wants a purple fountain pen.

Thanks! Had to polish the threads after the photo but... it all went together well and it writes so we'll call that one a win. Problem is now I want to make #2 and well, I can't decide which blank to use. Might deviate from my own material and play with some ebonite I've been holding onto.

Thanks! And... Don't I wish! Between the blanks, day job, kids, and grad school it's been a little crazy. Hopefully it slows down after the holidays a bit and I can do some stuff I've been putting off.
