Hi all,

I am new to this "turning" thing and just got my lathe 3 days ago. As a fountain pen enthousiast the intention always was to start with kitless fountain pens, so here we go!

Definitely many things to improve on, but not too bad as a first project if I may say so myself.

Cheers from the Netherlands!

That's a great start into the penturning world, well done.
What is the thread you have used on the cap ?
Do you have a tap and die for this, or did you cut it on a metal lathe ?

Up and Running, with your First Pen and a Kitless as well, WOW Prinsen.
Excellent Profile and Proportions, on a Beautiful Blank, Nicely Turned, and Machined.
The Finished Pen, could be lifted from the Matt Finish to Greater Heights, if it was Polished with Plastic Polish or on a Rotary Buff.
But that is a matter of Preference or Choice.
Congratulations, Great Work.
Brian.

Thank you! I used a wood lathe with tap and dies. I ordered the wrong drill bit so I had to use a 14x2.0 which is too big, but it works so it's fine for now. New bit has arrived so next one will be better!

Thank you very much!

I will definitely be polishing the next one better, I have micromesh but didn't use it this time.
