Greetings
This is my first work with ebonite. I wanted a simple design as another EDC. I see there are still scratches on it, I have to work on my sanding and polishing, I learned that ebonite likes rounded HSS not pointed or carbide tools. I got a better finish from a tool with a large tip radius. The pen is 5.495 inches long capped, 4.815 in uncapped. The pen body is 1/2 in diameter with a single start thread.
Thanks for lookin'.
Mike

I love the profile Mike. I do not delve into kitless, etc, often., but I do pay attention to their profiles. Yours is excellent.

Very nice blank, and while I see no flaws, I do relate to you wanting a bit better finish.

Excellent artistry! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! Did you fabricate the clip as well? Where did you source your ebonite?

Frederick, thanks, I wish I could make a clip like that. Mine a kinda clunky. I got the clip from Richard Greenwald.

I purchased the ebonite on eBay from a penturner's wife, her husband passed and she was clearing out supplies.

I have enough for one more pen then I have to find more. I like the feel of ebonite, and cellulose acetate, better than acrylic.

Very well done! I have a couple similar pens that I almost completed back when I stopped turning in 2012. Just needs to get them polished up and attempt to photograph them. Love that ebonite.
