Well done was attempting my first one this morning, was making final cut on end to get rid of divot from live center and bam cracked right open been searching on and off for last few hours for the piece that went missing determined to find and fix it, glad you are having better luck then I

Thanks for the comments, this was a fun project! Used a homemade jam chuck, there will be more of these to come.
Now I'm working on different types of clips and ways to attach the to the cap.

As far as the tree goes, General Stonewall used to have prayer meetings under the tree during the civil war. I'm not sure who planted the tree but General Stonewall made it famous by having the meetings under the tree.

Now it is being preserved by a couple of turning clubs here in the valley.
