My first Burl.....and another

Wow, do I have catchy titles or WHAT![)]

I tried my hand at a Burl today. That was an experience, but I think it turned out alright. Let me know what y'all think!
Also, I left off the bird today....sorry to all that was fond of it.
Both are Cigar 10k



Also turned this one up. If anyone can help with the wood type, please help.

I'd say Ipe as well... looks exactly like a staff I made out of the stuf... Was it hard as heck, and splintered a lot when you turned it? I made a pen, too, at one point.. it sure polishes up nice and the grain is very interlocked, lots of twist.
