ok..why is it so hard to find shoes in wider sizes...I need about a 9E and all I can ever find on sale are 9d..I have had good luck with skeechers work shoes but the ones I have are about worn out..I have purchased 3 different brands in the last month and none of them have been comfortable. If you have wide feet what brand do you wear..I need a casual shoe for work in a retail store where I put on 12 to 20 miles a day...

New Balance for none work shoes, 4E. At work, Iron Age steel toe ESD boot, Model 035, size 11MW. The Iron Age boot is the best, by far, steel toed boot I've ever had. My toes have never hurt. I do everything in them. I've walked 18 holes of golf in them before. If I had a lot of money I'd buy myself 10 pairs. I never find wide shoes on sale either.

I have wide feet and years ago I saw students of mine wearing Van's, typically "skater" shoes. They looked wide so I asked one of them that had my size foot if I could try it on. Fit like a glove, I now have maybe 10 pairs. Most I have paid is maybe $45 per pair and some as cheap as $25 on sale. I walk all day teaching, on my feet for hours and also wear them for hours in the shop and the feet feel great. A good hint I learned from kids is to just knot the laces and tuck them in, I never tie them but they slip right on.

I wear a 13-14 EEE. I wear Doc Martins at work and have been for the last 8 years, I tried teh Nike Neo Shox boot, but it did not last very long before it started hurting my feet. So I switched back to the Docs. I work in a warehouse and walk on a concrete floor all day.

if you care to splurge a little and put some good shoes on your feet, i'd recommend looking at born or ecco. the danish know what shoe making is all about and they make some really nice styles as well.

The first time I bought Eccos they were wonderful. 3 years later I bought the same make/model and they were very narrow. I hate that!!

Although a bit on the pricier side, Allen Edmonds shoes are still made in the USA (WI) and come in a variety of styles, widths AAA to EEE and large sizes. Superb quality that will last a long, long time.
