I replaced the pulley half closest to the motor and aligned the two pulleys so the belt tracks straight. Now there's the tiniest vibration that is more heard than felt, and doesn't travel to the spindle at all.
The reeves drive is a PITA, but once it's dialed in it works well. I still want to replace the belt, but it's not an easy thing. I don't get why they wouldn't make belt replacement easy, but whatever.
Turning on this lathe is VERY pleasurable now! Even more so than before!
