My Coolest Discovery Yet

I need to keep my cell phone on me while I'm in the shop for emergencies (like if one of my kids is sick at school). I had a Droid with a slide out keyboard that got all gunked up from 2 years worth of sawdust getting in there. I recently upgraded to an iPhone and didn't want it getting clogged in the ports, so I kept it in a sandwich size ziploc.

...you can use the phone right through the plastic!

Of course taking a phone call and talking through the bag is not recommended but if you're waiting for that coat of CA to dry a bit, you can at least check your email/facebook/etc...

Just thought I'd share in case anybody else has had the same sawdust troubles.

Thanks for the handy hint, my problem is not sawdust but metal filings from grinder etc. Makes it very hard to hear conversations.

Good idea. I keep my cell, GPS, etc. in zip locks when out on the motorcycle and there's a chance of rain.

Too bad I didn't have the cell in a zippy when it got ran over by a car in the Lowe's parking lot! :biggrin:

If you start getting billed for excess minutes, check to see if there's
any koi around. They like to call home and they talk forever!
