I had to laugh out loud at this one. I was out in the shop tonight and went to a cabinet for a battery for my moisture meter. This is the same cabinet where I store my larger CA glue bottles. I could not get the cabinet door open! Noticed it was stuck at the bottom, so I got a screw driver and wedged it open. Well, it appears my bottle of thick CA glue developed a small crack at the bottom and proceeded to leak out on the shelf down to the next shelf and the door.:smile: Probably 1/4 bottle of glue.

All the books on the bottom shelf are CA glued to the bottom. The middle shelf with the glue and other items has everything on it now stuck firmly in place. Not sure why the bottle developed a split. The shop is air conditioned, so heat was not the culprit. I had to call my wife out to see this one also. She just laughed and started to try and remove items, without much success.

First pic it the bottle. 2nd is the cabinet. 3rd is the shelf. 4th is the bottom shelf of cabinet.

It may cost you an 8oz bottle of DEBONDER to soften lose the books and other stuff that you don't want to destroy, I get lots of CA bottles and I never had one doing that on me, I had however, dropped an open 16oz bottle of thin CA on the floor and I can tell you that I got a lot worse off than you, I had burns all over me, luckily none went into my eyes that were unprotected at the time, I was very lucky, considering...!

I don't think that I have any "good" advice for you, unless you "may" want to play safe and put your CA bottles in one of those tin square biscuits containers, they are about 2" tall so, it would self-contain any major spillage, apart from that, I just think that, you were unlucky with that bottle...!

Cheers
George

Looks like a pressure issue, John. The crack must have happened all at once, otherwise the glue would have dried before getting to far away form the bottle if it was a slow leak. It looks like the bottle blew and the glue ran everywhere within a few seconds.
