Mossy, it's nice to have a drinking buddy that never wants to argue about who has the best Football team (every one knows it's Manchester United) and Yoshimi looks like a sweet girl.

Sheem looks like a great dog!

This is Corki, a Newfie-Lab mix (Newbrador?). She and I have had a lot of adventures together. Because she's so well behaved, I can take her anywhere. And because I take her everywhere, she's very well behaved.

Cool, a best friend thread. Dogs are the best people! Trooper is a German Shephard/Bloodhound mix. Two of his favorite pastimes. Going to the beach for a sunset picnic and goin' for car rides. It's a little cramped in mine but it never seems to bother him.

Here's a couple we rescued from the pound.
They are ferocious watch dogs now, no one dares to come near the place.

http://www.penturners.org/photos/index.php?n=22542 Here is my newest arrival. she came from a shelter that was going to put her down because of her breed. I had to have them come out and inspect my property to make sure I have a fenced in yard. She is already going for walks with me around the block without a leash and responds instantly when I call her, she also ignores other dogs when we are walking no matter how much they bark. She is weighing in at 76lbs. and is solid muscle. The vet says she is about 2 years old and is in excellent health. Another killer pit that just needed a good home.

How approbate, as all who have been here know I have a shop mate "Tony the Corgi" Tony is 12 and our late life child. Well today a Yorke puppy came into our yard, looked like he has been loose for days, dirty, flea bitten, starving and exhausted. He came right up to me and he is skin and bones. We called all the vets and the shelter in town and no one is looking for him. Dee's at our vet now with him and I think I'd have to tear him out of her arms as she has even given him a name. So from one dog (who we love to now with Mom and Dad coming to live with us and their Pom we'll have three.Oh well dogs are better than kids, they never ask to use the car, never borrow money with no intention of paying it back and think we're the greatest thing in the world.

Dogs treat me much better than people do ! I've been blessed to have three absolutely wondeful dogs during different parts of my lifetime, and for each one I could do no wrong. They made life a lot more enjoyable. Can't say the same about most people. Thank God for dogs.

OKLAHOMAN,

The Yorkie is a great dog. Small dogs that thinks they are Napoleon Bonaparte. They don't shed. They are very sociable, and want to be in the middle of whatever is going on. I used to tease my wife about having a rodent when we were first married. Our first went completely blind due to cataracts. We lost her a three years ago to a stroke. She was 12. Chloe our present Yorkie is a couple of years old, and is a ball of energy.

Oh. Don't let a gerbil get loose in the house at 2am while everyone is asleep with a Yorkie in the house. If it happens no one will sleep.

Dee's at our vet now with him and I think I'd have to tear him out of her arms as she has even given him a name.

And that would be how we ended up with a pack of 7 of the greatest mutts on the planet. Helpless looking souls wandering the means streets of the rez made it to out yard and into my wife's heart. Then mine.

Down to 3 now.

I think someone started something
All of the posted pictures are awesome!
This is my (second only to my wife) best friend, Payote and she is an American German Shepherd. She pretty much rules the roost around here. She absolutely will not allow me to go into my shop without her and will tear the door off its hinges getting out of the house if I try. She has one of those big feather beds in a corner and lays there watching whats going on as I tinker around.
Kudos to you Martin for starting this thread!

Some lovely photos here!

This is my shop buddy... Brasco, a German Shepard of 2.5 years.

The youngster is about 7 weeks in the photo. He is about 5 months old now but I dont have any updated pics.
