My Ballpoint and Slimline Entries

First off, Thanks to all who made the Summer Extravaganza possible, and especially to Derek, who ran these contests.:highfive:

First, the cigar:





Black Ti/Gold Ti Cigar with Spalted Red Oak. The only modification to this pen is the custom finial. I don't really care for the hex finial, but I like the rest of the kit, so the best mod for me is replacing the hex finial with a wooden one! The barrels were soaked in BLO for a day and then left dry for an equal amount of time before I applied the CA finish. The BLO soak really gives the oak a rich, golden look. The second pic especially looks kinda like an airplane - it just needs wings. :biggrin:

Now, the slimline:





Curly maple, with sparkly black acrylic for the centerband and finial.

Excellent pens, Chris.
Love the Red Spalted Oak Blank and Finial on your Cigar,
On the Slimline, Glorious Curly Maple Blank, your use of Black Acrylic for the Centre Band and Finial, was a nice addition. Though my preference would be to have the Centre Band the same diameter as the Blank, but that is just my taste.
