Hi Dawn,
I took the craft cord and wrapped it around the brass tube using CA glue every so often to hold the cord tight. Then put it on the lathe and started building with CA until I was just a little larger than the diameter I wanted. I took my skew and skim cut so that the CA was even thickness along the tubes. Next I used MM (Micro Mesh) to 12000. Then used polishing compound. Be sure to clean it good after the polishing compound. Then MM from 4000 to 12000 again.
