My son, Josh wanted a new pencil as he starts school today (homeschool). He was so excited when I suggested we make a pencil together. He went right to the "special" blank drawer. Yes, this was daddy's personal stash and chose out the cowboy from Jeff Powell. Of course I said yes and we went to work. He sanded the tubes while I cut and drilled the blank. I then glued and squared the blank and we turned it together. He had a blast and is so proud of his new creation for school.

Eric, congratulations to you and especially your son. Great work. I am trying to break my grandson into this stuff, but I have a bit of an advantage. He is 20 years old. He, however so far, has not done a piece this nice yet.

Great photos and pen. Nice to see the interest from the younger ones and the time spent together is priceless. Had my grandaughter spend a week with us last summer and the two of us spent most of the time in the shop. Got 4 pens made for her to take back to school.

And..he lost a tooth in the battle and he's still smiling ! lol

wow...most people wouldn't let a little guy in with a blank like that. I'm real impressed though..the pen looks super! The boy has great taste too...I think that skull cowboy is really cool and fun to look at, wish I had a pen like that growing up.
