Good grief!! This evening, my wife drove over to her parent's house (10 miles) to pick up our daughter who spent the night with "Oma and Opa" last night. On the way home, on I35 again, she encountered another driver going all over the road! She called me and asked what she should do.

I told her to get the license number and call 911 and follow but DO NOT chase them or exceed the speed limit, she had my daughter in the car, after all. They were only going 50 and never sped up. She followed them for 15 miles on the phone with 911 the whole time. Finally, a police cruiser came in and made the stop!

One week, one highway, one family, 2 drunk drivers off the road! I am so proud of her!

PS: No rewards offered for the effort...???:wink:

Cheers
George

Well, Curtis, thanks to your wife for her heroic action. On the other hands it concerns me that we have too many drunkk drivers on the road and specially on IH35 wich is a main highway form south and it's always busy. It's scary to know that this happened to you guys in one week. But, please tell your family to be extra careful and warry when on that darn highway. I pray that you and your family would always be safe and that God keeps these Drunks off the main road.
Great job.

Tell the Mrs she did a great thing and we are all proud of her efforts - not only did she get a drunk off the road and probably save a life or two - she did so safely without risking her own or your daughter's life! You guys ROCK this week!!!!!!

Two down, hundreds to go! If everyone would do like you and your wife the roads would be much safer and a lot of lives would be saved. Too bad there are not more people willing to do what is right instead of thinking I don't want to get involved. Tell your better half everyone on IAP is proud of her.

great job

Great job to the wife. I am sure she has saved some innocent person or persons life from another drunk driver. Trust me, here in Louisiana coming behind a drunk driver is pretty easy. Especially on the back roads. One person was drunk and the other person we followed had taken some pills that were not his and pulled about half way into a ditch when he passed out. Another person got on I-10 East bound going the wrong way, West bound. The law is to easy on DUI or DWI people. They need to have there licenses pulled and spend several months in jail for there first time. Second time will carry prison time!! NO EXCUSES!!

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I've heard that in Fresno, the penalty for drunk driving, whether it's the first time or not, is losing your car. The way I heard it, if you get pulled over and fail the test, the cops auction your car. I've always really liked that idea.

IT'S A TWOFER!! LOL.

Way to go Mr. and Mrs. Mesquite! Proud of both of you. If more people did this there would be a lot less drunks on the road.

WAY TO GO!

The really sad part is that my wife said there was a lot of traffic and other folks noticed it as well. They were even flashing their lights at the person but evidently did not have the time to do anything about it.

Yes, that is a sad statement. "I can flash my lights but I need to get to McDonald's, so I can't do anything else."

Just thank God for folks like you and your wife who know what the right thing to do is!

Way to go Seebeck's. There are alot of folk out there that shouldnt be, especially on I35 headin to or from 6th street.

Good for her... when I read your title, I thought maybe she was hunting with her car as a weapon.... lots of the locals here do that ... they use the trucks for hunting weapons..:biggrin:

matter of fact, I just missed a nice deer Thursday morning on my way to set up for my art show... she jumped into the road right in front of me, crossed the road and jumped up the bank on the other side, just about 3 feet in front of my truck.:eek:
