It's going to be a book your own room this year, and I suggest you book quickly.

I'm unable to get enough rooms in any one hotel in Champaign for the weekend of April 11-13th. The gal at a Best Western told me they have two groups on that weekend already. The only thing I could find was a chamber music festival. I had checked the University of IL calendar and didn't see anything there when I set the date. There are rooms available in several of the hotels, just not enough for the 35 rooms I got last time. I did find a pretty good price at a Best Western in Savoy, IL, less than 6 miles south of the hall. $72 for AARP/senior, $80 for single queen. They currently have 11 rooms left. Direct phone number is 217-356-1824. A Holiday Inn Express (over 35 rooms available) $114 king deluxe in Tuscola, Il, 27 miles south on I57, 217-253-6363, and a Best Western in Arcola $81 1 king internet only booking, IL 32 miles south on I57, 217-268-5000. The Best Western in Arcola is less than 2 years old. Red Roof in Champaign appears to have rooms starting at $60, but their online rating doesn't look too good. There are a few rooms in various hotels in Champaign, but most left are over $100 per night. The phone numbers I gave you are direct to the front desks, so of course they are not necessary for booking online. If you are coming from the north, also check hotels in Rantoul, IL, roughly 25 miles north of the union hall.

Bottom line, if there is too much trouble getting rooms, we can always change the date. But if you book soon, I'm pretty sure we will be alright. Keep me informed if there is too much trouble.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:I'm in the hotel---fair warning for everyone else---I snore!!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

I was just able to book for around $100 in Champaign. I was not happy with the choices because I had to choose a smoking room but I might call the hotel in the morning and see if I can change it. Being a frequent traveler and staying in $65-80 a night hotels a couple of times and regretting it I just could not bring myself to book those ones. I figured its a mini-vacation! Have fun and splurge. Although if I was really splurging I would have booked the Marriott. :)

I will bring ear plugs to make sure I don't hear Ed in the next room.
