Well after 50+ years in the Southwest and west we are moving to Virginia, specifically the Yorktown/Newport News area. Ne life style and culture and we are excited about it.

After 30 something years living the country life, the wife & myself moved into a small rural town.
Now moving from the southwest to the east sounds like a big cultural shock. Hope you have a smooth move transition & enjoy your new area!

Good area but the nor'easters can be brutal. Went through them in the Carolinas.

We did not change basic locations (20 miles north), but downsized our house and downsized my outdoor chores last year. We are very happy with our new digs! Age 66.

Best Wishes on the move.
It must be that time of year, I just arrived in Bossier City, LA for final walkthru & close on Friday. That 1000+ miles is hard on this old fart.
Wanting smaller house & an entire neighborhood zoned 55+. The reduction in extremely high taxes from South Dakota is also a plus.
