These are Mother's Day presents for the Church I serve for this coming Sunday. I started on these about one month ago. The experience was an adventurous one with some surprises along the way.
... This is Redheart from South America. After purchasing and cut them up... I found out that Redheart will want to brown in Sunlight. So, I went with a finish of... one coat Shellac to seal. Then, Three Coats of Marine Spar Varnish with UVA inhibitors. I made 30 of them... hoping this should be enough. The jars are filled with Lindt Chocolates of various flavors.

Two lids I blew through... So, I made bracelets for a couple of the teenager girls out of them and magnets for a couple little kids. Then I realized I may have more little ones... so, I took the scraps I had left and just made the shape up as I went. Feel free to ask me about the process.

Oh... my sermon for Sunday is going to be, Red Hearted Women. Using Eve as the central point of the message. Hopefully, these gifts with be a type of touchstone for them to remember.

Well done, Robert. That's a well thought out gift for the ladies on Sunday and if you put the same effort into your sermon it will be a memorable day!!!

What a great project. I also like your drying rack, I hadn't seen that done before.
I'm cheap and this is very practical. Golf tee's in a peg board... pretty simple. And when done... just stow it all away for the next project. Next project may need different placements for tee's.
