When I started turning pens and other things about 5 years ago I thought that blanks and pen components were really expensive. And at that time, they were to me and my wife thought I was spending a lot of money for my hobby and eBay was my friend. Since then, I have been blessed with a couple really good repeat customers and resellers for me that have turned my hobby into a small worthwhile sideline for retirement.
Following the lead of several other members here at IAP I went through my "stash" of blanks today and boxed up 11 small flat rate boxes of 18 blanks per box. Granted these are not the greatest banks but they are good practice blanks and some I would have been excited to get when I was starting out.
I am offering these to new turners, those who have been making pens for less than a year. All I am asking is $6.00 per box for postage and PayPal fees and that you are new at turning. Only one box per new turner. PM me and I will send you my PayPal information.

Thank you Larry. You should be all set. Money was sent about an hour ago. Thanks for your generosity!

Nearly Free Blanks

As a new member who has yet to turn his first pen I am grateful for your kindness. I will pass on your goodwill in turn so this one act of your generosity may perhaps continue for as long as their are pen turners just taking up the craft.

Funds are in your Paypal account now.

I like that idea Larry. I will do the same! I know of several charities that can sell them to raise funds.

I'll take one. Been turning for almost 3 months.

Thanks!

I sent you my paypal info.

Six have been mailed, 3 are spoken for (waiting on an address or payment).
Leaves two to go.

Wheelman, ottotroll, Krudwig, TonyL, Larry Hansen and Waggoner are in the mail. Bet we have all heard that before.

Last Box

Lloyd has claimed the final box of blanks.

Thanks to all the newbies out there for helping me get into my wife's better graces.
I lost a brother last Christmas Day. He was 7 years younger than me and the person who started me turning. He was a very generous individual when it came to donating pens to worthwhile causes and money to all church youth groups and area rodeo clubs. I want to start trying to fill my little brother's boots and this is a start for me.
Thanks

I will donate all of my pens I turn out of the blanks to a mother and daughter team going to Africa on a mission trip. They can sell these pens to raise money for their trip. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you for your generosity and good heart. It does my heart good to think that these blanks may start something really good. I think my brother would have been proud.
Blanks will be in the mail tomorrow.

Received my box of blanks today, amazing assortment of blanks and a couple of pen kits. Thank you very much for your generosity.

Thank you. What a wonder gift. I plan to be very generous with these. Received today.

You know I've heard those guys from South Dakota are super generous....and smarter than average.....and better looking than most. Must be true..................

Received my box today. Thank you very much for your kindness. I plan to donate a few of the pens I make for a charity auction. I just hope I can do them justice Thank you again for being so generous.

I too received my blanks and they were a really nice assortment, I turned one today! Thank you very much , I know those men named Larry are good guys! I also will pay it forward in some meaningful way.

I am glad the blanks made it to their new owners. Hope you are enjoying them!
D.Oliver couldn't have said it any better. :)

We are very appreciative. Thank you for the gift :)

It's nice to see and try new woods that you may have never explored yet...

Thank you Larry.

You're welcome Bobbie. There were some interesting combinations of blanks in those boxes. I tried to put a nice cross-section of woods and acrylics in each. Enjoy!

My box of blanks was delivered today! Just wanted to say thank you for the 19 blanks and two pen kits! This is more pen blanks than I have seen in one place and they are now mine thanks to your exceptional generosity. I will pass this on and expect the next person to do the same and your one act of kindness will roll on like a wave that goes across a great distance in perpetuity. The blanks are beautiful and I hope to be able to learn how to release the beauty inside each of them like the sculptor who said they just remove the excess material to release the beautiful image locked inside. Thank You!!!
