Here are 2 more pens that were ordered as Christmas presents

The first is a screw cap European fountain pen made from jarrah burl with a celtic knot made of maple and aluminum.

This next pen is a Jr Majestic in cross grain bloodwood with a CA finish

I'm not sure if this is the answer, but when I glued up the lamination I soaked the maple with thin CA. Maybe the CA sealed it?

I am just starting to do celtic knots but I have a long way to go to catch up with yours. Those are just plain outstanding.
