Anybody watch this show on Discovery?? I am really P Oed as they have been advertising new series starting Nov 5 on the website then on TV they said season premier will be Nov 6 and now it's a repeat Dam

I know a few younger people that make it and they say they don't get the hang overs as with other liquor. As if that is not liquor. Lol

maybe you can try and use your pressure pot for casting pens to make a little shin your self . watch you don't go blind . you can always try newfe screech I've drank it and you don't need a flash light at night .

The best shine is made with sprouted rye that takes the place of yeast, if the shine is made with yeast that is what causes the hangover. Some of my relatives use to make it in the mountains of NC not far from where some of the show is filmed.

and its good mixed with a little apple juice. Never had a hangover and felt refreshed in the morning. lol

I'm a big fan of the show...It kicked off it's new season last Tuesday and like most repeat seasons, such as Gold Rush (another big fan), they start a new season with a refresher. I like it mainly for the scenery love the mountains...Hope Tim gets it together would like to try his shine but I would bet it would be $$$ and Tickle :bulgy-eyes::beat-up::befuddled: well he just fun to watch makes good TV....

Actually, you need yeast to ferment, and yeast ferments sprouted rye moonshine. (technically, there are other microbes that can be used at times, but very doubtful for moonshine)
What sprouting the rye does is provides enzymes to convert starches to sugars, giving the yeast a more easily processed food source. Yeast eat the sugars, process them, and produce carbon dioxide and alcohol. You drink and burp the yeast pee.
Note: I'm a mostly law abiding citizen who enjoys the show and brews beer.

No yeast, no alcohol. Might be wild yeast though. Sprouting the grain creats the enzymes that turn the starch into sugar.You still need yeast.

Well it did not kick it's new season in Canada, even though it was said too on the Discovery channel, so I am really pi---ed now.
