Question for you on the flowers, being fairly new to casting and pen making both. How do you keep them from the edge of the blank and does that even matter? If you have one close to the edge, when turning, obviously you don't want spots of exposed flowers, is this a case of just turn and then something like a ca finish to cover anything exposed?

Presumably the hole was painted white after drilling and tapping?

The blank was made in house and we fiddled with and developed a process.

We figured a lot out through trial and error and managed to make things work.
 
WOW! What a pen! Where did you find that blank? Its incredible. You really brought it out, with that crystal clear finished surface.
