Only concern would be making sure those don't leak once you pour in the alumilite. It is obviously a disposable mold but it should work without too much trouble.

Before you pour I would seal all the inside corners with caulk or hot glue.

thanks, everyone, got it all sealed and letting off-gas cheap plywood works for now saving up for something nicer

I use wood for molds all the time, especially larger custom molds. If you cover the inside of the wood with Tuck / Sheathing tape, and spray a little mold release, the resin block slides right out for reuse of the mold, and you can use it to seal the seams. It's quick and easy.
