Mogul Pen Kit issues

Anyone having issues with Mogul pen kit from Wood Turningz? I have turned two kits and both have same issue. The issue I am having after pressing in twist mechanism into lower barrel which has to be pressed in deep. The upper Barrel is loose and will not grip twist mechanism. Before assembly I tested and it was snug. Anybody have any ideas as to why this is happing.
