A first for me. As Russ said, Do, don't try. So I did.

The finish is horrible. This will be a pocket pen.

I love the faux centerband, very cool. Overall, I really like the shape, but I'm not too keen on the abrupt transition at the nib end. Good pairing of wood and kit finish. Can you disassemble and refinish then pen? If so, you could easily make this a real gem.

I like it. The finish isn't that horrible. What is the wood? I personally have a terrible time with black walnut.

The is the nib end larger than the nib or is that an optical illusion from the crome hardware 'dissapearing' into the background?

Optical illusion to my eye. If I squint hard enough, I can see the nib making a nice transition. Someday, I hope to transition to the "do" phase of modifying kits like this.

Great pen!

It's Mun Ebony, I think. I just ordered the dissasmle cit from CS. Gotta pull the transmission to refinish.

The blank is a little proud of the nib. Yet, was fine on the mandrell. have to check on that. The kit is a slim line from BB/Berea.

I bought a bunch of the low end lkits to play wtih / give away.
