Has anyone ever used this as a stabilizer? Searching past threads, I couldn't find any mention of it.

Minwax Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner - Preparation - Minwax

It is solvent based, but a different product than their wood hardener. I just got my vacuum system up and running and had a can of this so I gave it a try. Blanks are drying now. I'm going to order some CJ from Curtis, but just couldn't wait.......

If you look at the MSDS for it, you'll see that it is 89% mineral spirits. It doesn't reveal what the other 11% is, but whatever it is is unlikely to do much for you in the way of stabilizing.
