So far all I have used is the little acrylic finishing pads but my set finally failed so I am wondering what other options are there and where can I get a good set of mm?

I get mine from Bill at A.S. can't beat his service! you can get individual sheets or a pack of seven grits which is a pretty good value.

I've purchased 3" x 6" sheets and then cut them lengthwise into strips about 3/4" to 1" wide.

Buy the 3" x 4" size for 16.95 from Woodnwhimsies, cut them in quarters. That makes it around 4.50 bucks for a set of 9.
