Micarta

I made a micarta pen using bluejeans and worked really well it looks like funky blue wood. I then tried to make one using a work shirt which is light blue, police shirt, to match when i go to work. My problem came when I turned the new block of material. The light shirt came out almost as dark as the jeans. Except where the "grain" is. Is there a clear fiberglass resin that won't darken the material. Thanks for the help

anything that gets darker when wet will get darker with resin.

Go to local fabric shop and see if you can find a lighter colored blue just might work.
Most local shops will sell in small amounts, so theres not much expense to experiment.
and you may find something else interesting to try,or even sale a pen.

I use clear PR when making (my)carta pens using white material. The colors come out true.
