Hooboy. Tough stuff. I managed to hide most of the "happy accidents" incurred while turning the fuzzy stuff...can people actually thread this stuff? I love the figure of this type of micarta, but I might be "one and done" with this material. I was happy enough with the finish:
I sealed the Micarta with thin 2P10, sanded through the MM grits, then hit it with friction polish.

Looks nice. What's underneath the cap?

I drilled out the blank and epoxied in an aluminum sleeve/ bushing, of which you see the business end. If I had my druthers, it would be hidden by the cap. Didn't happen with this attempt, though. I lined the cap with ebonite, to avoid metal-to-metal threads.
