Some artist friends (who also make their own paints from raw pigments ground into various "vehicles") requested some colorful dimensional "paintscape" pens to brighten up the Holidays.

Steps:
Mica powders ground into various Golden and Liquitex brands acrylic polymers.
Pen tubes sanded, then acetone washed.
Painted under high magnification with fine brushes, palette knives, and toothpicks.
Each pen is 3-4 layers of paint applied 1-2 days apart.
"Paintscapes" then cured for 1 week.
Cast tube-in with Douglas and Sturgess Clear Casting PR and copper flakes at 50psi.
Cured x 1 week.
Turned and finished as usual.
2 Virage Fountain Pens, and 3 Slim Stylus Pens, with close-up views:

Humble heartfelt thanks to all of you or the kind words!!

I encourage all of you to do some paint making with raw pigments. The colors sing and play well together through inks, watercolors, chalks, acrylics, solvents, resins, milk, egg, wax, linseed oil, etc.

I was lucky to learn paint making 20+ years ago from artist Alex Warren, who has the finest pigments at Sinopia - here:
The Story Behind Sinopia Pigments and Materials

(I have no financial attachment with Alex)

Warm regards to all - Bob
