Metalworking Carbide Inserts

I have some carbide inserts that were part of an auction lot from a defunct manufacturing company that made after market brake drums and rotors. They were maching cast iron.

I have no idea if these are of any value to anyone but thought I would post them for trade and see. They are either 1/2 " squares or 1/2 "- 80 degree diamonds.

I'd like to trade for blanks, pen kits, possibly turning tools or tooling. I'll consider a cash offer if someone wants to go that route.

This is my first attempt at a Trade post and I hope I'm not making any bone head mistakes or breaking any rules in how I'm doing this.

I also have a few boxes ceramic inserts of the same shapes.

Thanks for taking a look. They could just be an albatross around my neck but I figured I'd give it a whirl.

They are 0.188 thick.

The carbide piece on the tool I have is 5/8 in wide square. Do you have any that will fit that?

Can you upload an edge veiw of these? I might be inerested in 30 or so.

Look at the fourth picture and you will see one on its edge in the box. What you need is the dimensions and that is posted to be 0.188 in post #3.

They are classified for cast iron, and all have a 0 degree rake. (in other words the edge is square (90 Degrees to the top) so the insert can be used on both sides; dual cutting edge.

The insert holder holds the insert at a downard angle, to get the clearance for the edge.

I don't have a carbide tool but all the inserts I've seen they have a postive rake (the edge is at an angle to the top) and can not be used on both sides; single cutting edge only

These won't work in the wood cutting tools from what I see.
