Those that do metal pens such as aluminum and brass and things how do you achieve a brushed satin look??? I tried today and first I did a straight sanding and then I tried a back and forth motion to give a swirled look. Wasn't happy with either or. Anyone have any close up photos they want to share??? Looking for the secret.

The next one I might try a bright finish but I also would like to powdercoat it if I can figure out how to overcome the problem with the glue between the tubes and the blank.

Thanks for the replys.

John,
I don't have any photos to share, but...
try a scotchbrite pad for a brushed look.play with the rpm's and pressure.
I would cut a piece big enough to cover the length of blank and hold it in a
hand with spread fingers to distribute somewhat even pressure.no side to side movement.
you can also use water or mineral spirits with the scotchbrite to alter or change the look of the finish.
