Metal lathe needed?

I have a rikon mini wood lathe.....works great. I am looking to turn some solid brass rod,( 1/2 inch tops) I am also going to be wanting tap and die some. Can I do stuff like that on my lathe, or am I going to want a metal lathe?

The answer is both, You can turn the brass and use the tap and dies on your Rikon lathe but you will still want a metal lathe. Why? because its another great tool and you can never have enough great tools.
